Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the world’s largest, fully accredited university specializing in aviation and aerospace engineering, recently moved its new subsonic wind tunnel to a dedicated research facility at the university’s campus in Daytona Beach, Florida.

When assembled, the tunnel will be capable of achieving wind speeds up to 230 miles per hour and has a test section that is 6-feet wide x 4-feet tall and 12-feet long.

Moving this 91,483-kg (202,480-lb.) structure across the Daytona Beach International Airport to its new home at the Embry-Riddle Research Park was a major undertaking, requiring a crew of eight to manage one crane, two forklifts and 15 truckloads of componentry.
