ASE – Aero Systems Engineering, Inc.
On July 24, 2020, Calspan acquired Aero Systems Engineering, Inc (ASE), based in St. Paul, Minnesota. This acquisition expanded Calspan's global presence in the aerospace industry and strengthened Calspan's position as a leader in hypersonics, wind tunnel services, and jet engine test solutions, and enabled broader access to a new customer base and the ability to offer multiple combined services.
New locations for historical ASE offerings:
Calspan obtained FluiDyne with the acquisition of ASE in 2020. Integrating this company into Calspan added new capabilities in wind tunnel design and build for all speed regimes, including hypersonics. Calspan also gained the well-known FluiDyne aero test laboratory that conducts wind tunnel testing, propulsion testing, test rig and subscale model building for aerodynamic vehicles.
