Calspan has been awarded the NHTSA contract for FMVSS 213 Testing

Buffalo, New York – April 25, 2018. Calspan is pleased to announce it has been awarded the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) contract for the performance of tests required by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 213, Child Restraint Systems regulation. This contract award signifies Calspan’s commitment to improving the safety of vehicles and their occupants.

The FMVSS No. 213 testing requirements include provisions for a dynamic sled test to simulate a vehicle striking a fixed barrier in a frontal impact, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inversion test. The contract award encompasses all facets of the dynamic test requirements to be conducted on child restraint systems.
