Calspan’s staff will be sharing information about our turnkey testing solutions for the development of aircraft. Services include wind tunnel model design and fabrication, high-quality force measurement systems, wind tunnel testing, and in-flight research capabilities on our fleet of 8 fully modified airborne testbeds, including making unique, one-of-a-kind aircraft modifications to accommodate new technology.

The Transonic Wind Tunnel at Calspan is the only independently owned wind tunnel of its kind in the United States. Our experienced staff and capable facility have been successfully partnering with government agencies, defense primes, and commercial entities for over six decades. Calspan is committed to delivering high-quality data in a way that exceeds customer expectations. As exemplified in our ability to design and fabricate detailed wind tunnel models in-house and collect test data using very accurate force measurement systems designed to meet specific test requirements.

Calspan’s models are designed and manufactured at our Newport News, Virginia location. Originally founded as Dynamic Engineering in 1972 as the sole provider of wind tunnel models to NASA’s Langley Research Center, Calspan Systems has since delivered thousands of test articles to major OEM’s, government entities, and research facilities around the world. Calspan’s instrumentation design and application techniques ensure accurate data will be captured and delivered during the test cycle.

Calspan’s Force Measurement Systems develops state-of-the-art internal and external balances, and model position/motion control systems. Our expert staff specializes in the development, analysis, design, fabrication, instrumentation, calibration and integration of balances and model positioning systems. Our force type balances provide unique capabilities not offered by other types of balances.

Whether you need a portion of our design, fabrication or testing capabilities or the whole turnkey solution, Calspan will partner with you to provide the best-in-class service, product, and data you are looking for. If you are attending SciTech Forum, January 8-10 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, stop by and say hello to Calspan. We’ll be at Booth 423.
