A wrap up from SciTech 2019

Calspan had a significant presence at the 2019 AIAA SciTech Forum January 7-11, 2019. Representation from Calspan’s 8ft. by 8ft. Transonic Wind TunnelForce Measurement Systems group and our Wind Tunnel Test Equipment development team could be found at our booth in the exhibit hall at any point during the three-day exhibition event. In addition, the team attended forum presentations and served on the AIAA Ground Test Technical Committee (GTTC) to help shape the future of aerospace.

As part of the Forum, the team participated in two presentations during the week. Calspan’s Ryan Edmonson and Jay Kemper presented on the adaptive Flight Control Systems used on Calspan Learjets, and Dennis Booth presented the fascinating legacy of Calspan’s Force Measurement Systems Group. Both presentations were well attended and received.

In addition to the Forum and the exhibition, as AIAA Corporate Members, Calspan had the opportunity to engage with other members of the AIAA community and took part in a large young professionals networking event. We met over 150 of the brightest aerospace and engineering students who are looking for internships and jobs in this competitive market. Visit our Careers section to learn more about working at Calspan and to view all of our open opportunities.

Joining thought leaders from across the globe at this event allows Calspan to stay on the cutting edge of ideas and technology. Our participation on the GTTC allows us to contribute to the greater aerospace community that reaches across NASA, Department Of Defense, and both U.S. and International Universities, through thought sharing and contributing to developing new papers.

Calspan is already looking forward to next year’s forum, January 6-10 in Orlando, FL.  If you are interested in any of our services, please reach out via our Contact Form.
