tisax.jpgCalspan’s Mobility Safety & Performance Test Lab earned a Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX®) Label designation, opening the way to provide superior service to European OEMs.

TISAX® is a security standard developed regarding information and physical asset security for the automotive industry. It is overseen and trademarked by the ENX Association, comprised of multiple European automotive manufacturers and suppliers. The TISAX® standard is prevalent across the European automotive industry as it was established by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).

The TISAX® label has three assessment designations, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. The higher the level, the greater the security requirements.

Calspan earned the Level 3 Label designation, the highest level of information security standards. Under this designation, Calspan proved it meets the following requirements:

  • Information with High Protection Needs
  • Protection of Prototype Parts and Components
  • Protection of Prototype Vehicles
  • Protection of Test Vehicles

Earning the TISAX® label requires proof that all employees are trained in every process and follow every process beyond simply documenting the processes. It grades each company and strongly encourages continuous improvement versus only meeting a standard. Finally, TISAX® does not give an official certificate; they only award the TISAX® label.

Calspan hosted an external auditor to verify the completed self-assessment with an on-site visit in September of 2022.  We were officially given the TISAX® label in November of 2022, which will last for three years.

Calspan’s customers maintain high expectations for the security of their information and prototype vehicles being tested.  Our focus is on providing best-in-class test services, exceeding our customers’ expectations.  Calspan always has regarded information security as a top priority and is very proud to have earned the TISAX® designation.
