Calspan is thrilled to be presenting at Automotive Testing Expo North America 2017.

Automotive Testing Expo brings together automotive testing professionals, suppliers, and engineers from around the world who are experts in the automotive testing industry. For three days, Calspan will join over 60 other speakers and hundreds of exhibitors and attendees at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan.

Calspan’s Director of Crash testing, Gerald (Jerry) Goupil will be presenting this morning to discuss advances in automotive crash testing and how it relates to ever changing testing procedures and protocols.

Jerry will be presenting on how crash test requirements are changing to meet the needs of the pending implementation of NCAP Tomorrow and forthcoming advancements in EuroNCAP. New high-energy tests and advanced dummy technologies are creating challenges for vehicle manufacturers and independent automotive safety testing companies. As testing challenges continue to mount, the testing industry needs to prepare for unique applications of facilities and equipment.

Based on Calspan’s intimate knowledge of NCAP Tomorrow protocol and NHTSA’s Research and Development efforts, construction of a new crash test laboratory was initiated in early 2016. The new facility design was created to handle higher energy tests, including the NHTSA Oblique and EuroNCAP V2V test. For an update on Calspan’s new, state-of-the-art automotive crash test facility, seek out Jerry before or after his presentation or visit Calpsan.com for updates and announcements on the progress of the facility.

If you or someone you know is attending Automotive Testing Expo 2017, October 24-26 at Suburban Collection Showplace, be sure to look for Calspan representatives and say hello. Calspan’s Director of Crash Testing, Gerald Goupil will be presenting Wednesday, October 25 at 10:40am in Hall B.
